Tips on how to use iPods in the Science Classroom

This resource came from Katie’s list of websites. This PDF is on how to use an iPod in the science classroom, however it talks about how to basically but Power Points onto an iPod. I use Power Points in a lot of my classes. Now I have the steps on how to make these Power Points available for students to have on their iPods. They can use these to review/study for a test or if they were absent a day, they can catch up on what they missed.

The Educational Podcast Network

Thanks Aaron for this wonderful resource! I found several podcasts that I could use in my classroom. I also liked the podcasts under the Career Development subject. There were also some under the Computer/Tech Skills subject that I could use. Some of them created by 2 Guys Named Joe are pretty funny. I also liked that ability to listen to podcasts created by other students and classrooms.

Learning in Hand

This website was listed on Andy’s and Julie’s wikis. I like the list of links to places to find already created podcasts. I really liked ‘Learn Out Loud’ which has podcasts for a ton of different subjects. I found many I could possibly use in my classroom. On this site, people can rate the podcasts and leave comments letting you get several views on if it is a good one or not.

Grand Prairie Schools Welcome iPods in the Classrooms

This website is from Julie. I really enjoyed reading this article and seeing how different teachers are using iPods to integrate their classrooms and curriculums. Reading the student comments just drove home with me why it is so important to incorporate technology into the classroom. I would love to show it to my administration so they can see that schools do use iPods and they are okay to have in school if used in the right way.

100 Ways to Use Your iPod to Learn and Study Better

This website was provided by Kristen. What a great list of ideas! I thought the SparkCharts were very interesting. This is a part of the SparkNotes website where students can find SparkCharts or flash cards to help them review for a test. There are only a few subjects currently offered, however I am sure they will be coming out with more so I can’t wait to see what others they develop.
